Mallory Park
Timings
Entrance gates to Mallory Park will typically be opened from approximately 6:45am, although this does vary. There are times during the course of the day where you will be able to leave the venue, which will always be between sessions as you must cross the track at the home straight to exit. The last session of the day will always end by 5pm, so expect most people to be packing up and queuing to leave the venue at this time.
Fuel
Fuel is available on-site however sometimes unavailable. It is recommended to bring your own for the day. If you are arriving on your bike and cannot carry fuel with you then you can wait for lunch time and leave the track to nearby fuel stations to refill.
Garages and power
There are only a handful of small garages present in the pits, of which the first couple are always for the event organisers and the remainder are typically booked in advance. There is power available inside of the garages if you are lucky enough to snag a garage. It is highly recommended not to expect a garage, even if you turn up early, and to instead bring a power generator with you to set up camp in the extensive parking area where you will find plenty of space. There are a couple of power points in the parking area, but again, do not rely on these as you'll likely not get one. Bring a generator and you'll be absolutely fine. One thing to note is the parking area is on a slight gradient, so bear that in mind when parking/getting set up as you'll want to angle your paddock stands so your ride doesn't roll away (only half joking!).
Novice riders
If you're riding your bike to the track and don't have a van etc, you are best to setup either by the benches outside the cafe or right behind the barrier next to the garages beside the track. Mallory is a beginner friendly circuit for novice group riders getting into track days, and whilst there is no track in Ride4/5 to practice on, there are plenty of YouTube videos explaining how to approach each section.
Circuit overview
Mallory Park, often referred to as "The Friendly Circuit," is a popular venue for motorcycle track days, offering riders an exciting combination of fast straights and challenging corners. Located in Leicestershire, England, this circuit is one of the shorter tracks on the UK circuit scene, measuring just 1.35 miles (2.17 km) in length. However, what it lacks in size, it more than makes up for in intensity, providing riders with a diverse and thrilling riding experience. Its layout makes it perfect for both newcomers to track riding and seasoned veterans looking to sharpen their skills. The circuit features six corners, with each offering unique challenges for riders. Key sections of the track include the famous Gerrards Bend, a long, sweeping right-hander that tests both throttle control and cornering confidence. At the opposite end of the circuit lies Shaw's Hairpin, a tight, slow corner that requires precision braking and acceleration control as riders work to exit smoothly onto the short straight that follows. Another exciting section is Devil’s Elbow, a fast downhill left-hand kink that demands sharp concentration. These varied corners make Mallory Park an excellent training ground for improving braking, cornering lines, and acceleration techniques on a motorcycle. Mallory Park's history adds to its appeal, with a legacy dating back to the 1950s. Originally a horse racing venue, it was converted for motor racing use in 1956. Over the years, it has hosted a wide range of motorsport events, including motorcycle racing, making it a well-established name in UK motorsport. The circuit has a strong connection with grassroots motorsport, and its smaller size creates a friendly, approachable environment for riders, perfect for track days where gaining experience and building confidence are key. For motorcycle enthusiasts, Mallory Park offers well-organized track days with plenty of track time and accessible facilities. Its shorter lap length and open design also mean there are excellent spectator views, allowing friends and family to watch the action unfold from almost any point around the track. Whether you're a novice looking to experience your first track day or a seasoned rider looking to refine your skills, Mallory Park provides an engaging and challenging environment that brings out the best in riders.
