Timings

Entrance gates to Donington Park usually open at approximately 6:45am-7am. After a short drive through the circuit grounds you will park up behind the pits or in the general car parking area. Access in/out is very simple so you are free to exit the circuit at any point during the day. The last session of the day will always end by 5pm, so expect most people to be packing up and queuing to leave the venue at this time.

Fuel

Fuel is available on-site from a fuel pump next to the main cafe. It is not manned and you pay by card only.

Garages and power

Donington is probably the best circuit for track days when it comes to nabbing a garage. Unless you arrive last, you have a very high chance of your pick of a spot in one of the many garages. They all have power and the supply is reliable. There is power available inside of the garages if you are lucky enough to snag a garage. It is highly recommended not to expect a garage, even if you turn up early, and to instead bring a power generator with you to set up camp in the extensive parking area where you will find plenty of space. There are a couple of power points in the parking area, but again, do not rely on these as you'll likely not get one. Bring a generator and you'll be absolutely fine. One thing to note is the parking area is on a slight gradient, so bear that in mind when parking/getting set up as you'll want to angle your paddock stands so your ride doesn't roll away (only half joking!).

Novice riders

Donington is friendly for novice track day riders. Take your time to learn the track and build up speed throughout the day. The track width is large, helping to reduce bunching up, however because each lap is quite long there can be sections where a novice riders will be fast and others slow, so keep a healthy distance and have fun.
